Product description:
The Viral RNA Extraction Kit (CE-IVD) is designed for the rapid simultaneous purification of viral RNA from cell-free samples such as serum, plasma, urine, cell-free body fluids, cell culture supernatants, and rinse fluid. of swab samples.
Viral RNA molecules bind to silica-based media, and impurities, such as proteins and nucleases, are removed by thorough washing with wash buffer. The RNA is then eluted in RNase-free sterile water. The isolated viral RNA is ready to use and should be stored at – 70 ° C.
The procedure can be used for the isolation of viral RNA from a wide range of viruses. However, performance cannot be guaranteed for all virus species and must be validated by the customer. The amount of purified viral RNA depends on the type of sample, virus titer, sample source, transportation, storage, and age. The kit also includes carrier RNA that enhances the binding and recovery of low-concentration viral RNA.

Specifications
The Viral RNA Extraction Kit has been validated for the isolation of RNA from SARS-CoV-19 clinical samples. 60 positive and 20 negative samples were collected from nasopharyngeal exudates and RNA was isolated in parallel using this and a comparison kit. After RNA isolation, qPCR was performed using the protocol described by Corman VM et al, 2020, also known as the “Charité protocol”. A co-isolated internal mRNA was used together with viral RNA as a positive control.
It includes 500 rxn:
– 500 MiniSpin columns
– 1000 collection tubes (2 ml)
– 1 vial Carrier RNA (lyophilized)
– 300 ml of BLQ buffer
– 165 ml of buffer WB1
– 100 ml of buffer WB2
– 50 ml of RNase-free water
Applications
The purified viral RNA is suitable for use in RT-PCR and qRT-PCR and can be used for:
- Viral Load Monitoring.
- Virus detection.
- Viral genotyping.
Storage, shipping and warranty
Shipped at: Room temperature. Carrier RNA solution in gel pack / dry ice.
Storage: All components can be stored at room temperature except carrier RNA solution at –20 ° C. If any reagent in the kit forms a precipitate, heat it to 55–65 ° C until the precipitate dissolves and allow it to cool to room temperature before use.
